Vechea Bucovina is a cultural non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and promoting Romanian traditions, heritage, and craftsmanship. Its mission is to inspire younger generations to reconnect with their cultural roots through hands-on workshops and creative experiences such as egg decorating , wood carving, and icon painting.
Rooted in the rich cultural landscape of Bucovina, a region renowned for its authentic folklore, painted monasteries, and artisanal traditions, the association embodies values such as authenticity, community, and cultural continuity. By celebrating heritage and transmitting ancestral knowledge, Vechea Bucovina nurtures both pride and curiosity in the local identity, while also sharing its beauty with audiences unfamiliar with Romanian culture.
The Creative Challenge: Tradition Meets Today Approach
Since ever, people have drawn inspiration from nature. Mountains, forests, rivers, flowers, and the sun have been translated into symbols, woven into fabrics, carved into wood, or painted on Easter eggs.
These motifs became a universal language of heritage, passed down through generations. My challenge was to builds a bridge between generations, connecting traditions with those meant to carry them forward.
Design Approach
Taking advantage of new technologies, I created for the first time a logo using an AI model.
With the Flux 1.0 model, I generated a unique logotype that blends handcrafted tradition with contemporary.
A Palette of Nature & Crafts
Inspired by both nature and craft, the visual universe expands the brand beyond its logo. These elements echo the same gestures of weaving, carving, and painting that have shaped Bucovina’s heritage. They bring rhythm, playfulness, and a folkloric continuity into the brand’s applications.
The Logo: A Living Ornament
From Crafts to Community
A strong identity is proven in context. Vechea Bucovina’s logo and visual universe adapt naturally to different media, from crafted objects to digital spaces.
Through this brand, tradition finds new ways to speak, colorful, playful, and authentic, yet ready to inspire tomorrow’s generations. I feel honored to have worked on the branding of Vechea Bucovina, and I look forward to see many inspiring projects in the years ahead.
